StatVault

Terms of service

Effective 2026-05-18.

These terms govern your use of StatVault, the Knox Oracle, and any StatVault API. By using the service you agree to them. If you don't agree, don't use the service.

1. The service

StatVault is an analytics product operated by VaultSpark Studios. Knox is our scoring and answer engine; the Knox Oracle is the upstream-data layer it grounds against. Both are continuously evolving; scores, labels, and answers may change as the underlying calibration improves.

2. Permitted use

  • You may use StatVault for personal research, journalism, sports consumption, and integration with your own non-competing products.
  • You may quote Knox scores, labels, and answers in published work as long as the source is attributed to StatVault and the citation includes the receipt id where one was provided.
  • You may build products that consume our public API endpoints subject to the rate limits documented on each route.

3. Prohibited use

  • You may not attempt to reverse-engineer or reconstruct the Knox IQ algorithm, scoring weights, model factors, or the Knox Oracle's trust calibration from observable outputs. See proprietary information.
  • You may not scrape, crawl, or otherwise harvest StatVault pages or API endpoints in excess of the documented rate limits or in violation of robots.txt directives.
  • You may not resell, repackage, or white-label StatVault data as your own product without a written partnership agreement.
  • You may not use StatVault to violate the terms of service of any upstream data provider, third-party platform, or oddsmaker.
  • You may not present Knox scores or answers as guarantees, advice for regulated activity (financial, betting, medical), or facts about a real person beyond what the receipt anchors.

4. Accounts

Some surfaces require an account. You are responsible for the security of your credentials and for activity that occurs under your account. Notify us at security@statvault.org if you suspect unauthorized access.

5. No warranty

Knox values are statistical estimates anchored to underlying evidence. We don't warrant accuracy, fitness for any particular purpose, or non-infringement. Use Knox to inform decisions; don't use it as the sole basis for any irreversible decision.

6. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, VaultSpark Studios is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of StatVault. Our total liability for any direct damages is capped at the amount you paid to VaultSpark Studios in the twelve months preceding the claim.

7. Termination

We may suspend or terminate access for users who violate these terms, attempt to compromise the service, or whose use creates risk to upstream data providers or other users.

8. Changes to these terms

Substantive changes are versioned and announced on the StatVault changelog. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance.

9. Contact

legal@statvault.org for legal questions, security@statvault.org for security reports, support@statvault.org for everything else.

These terms are a baseline working draft and not legal advice. Consult counsel for definitive interpretation.
